August 27, 2021 – Initial release of Melon Playground (Android/iOS). Developed by Sliz (TwentySeven studio) using Unity. Inspired by People Playground and Garry’s Mod.
2022

Jan–Apr 2022 – Rapid updates (v6.0 → v8.1). First iOS version launched on April 14, 2022.

Mid–Late 2022 – Continuous updates (v9.x → v12.x) adding new weapons, characters (Corn, Pumpkin), vehicles, and maps.

December 14, 2022 – Melon Playground was removed from Google Play. Later restored with update 13.2023, first as APK, then back on the Play Store.

Early 2023 – Major improvements: workshop rework, external mod formats (.melmod, .melsave).

Mid-2023 – Name officially changed from Melon Playground to Melon Sandbox (v15.1.100). New logo introduced.

Late 2023 – Big content updates: new maps (e.g., Acid Map), advanced items, vehicles, and physics features.

March 2024 – Game was removed again from Play Store due to a false copyright strike (by “Pudgyvids”).
